Travel[bl]ogue – One Bag Part 4: Double-wedding weekend

The final installment of the One Bag Adventure Challenge is here! And it’s the big mama: the double-wedding weekend.

On top of a 6pm wedding that I am in on Friday and a 3pm wedding I am attending on Saturday, there is also a spa day and rehearsal dinner on Thursday (thankfully, casual), solo museum time for me and dinner with my old Bay Area friends on Wednesday, and a BBQ & pool party with PC’s family on Sunday. We don’t get home as often as we’d like, so we really like to cram everything in. :)

Because I like to push myself, for this One Bag challenge all of my stuff AND all of PC’s stuff is going in the same bag.

Here’s my stuff:

It’s not exactly in order, but here’s what I’ve got and for what:

Workout shoes & clothes (Th, F, Sun)
Leggings (F & S morning)
The 2 sweaters I bring on every trip
Striped short sleeve top and leopard sweater (W driving, museum & dinner)
Swimsuit & coverup (Th spa, Sat morning pool party)
Bridesmaid tank and white jeans (Th rehearsal dinner)
Swim coverup #2 (Sun family pool party)
Printed tee and denim long shorts (Sun family pool party)
Gray top (M driving)
Metallic flat sandals; Red bridesmaid shoes; Tan wedges; Sanuk sandals
Jewelry, handbags, lingerie
Harry Elefonte

Dresses:

The black is the bridesmaid dress; the other 2 are options for the Saturday wedding, depending on the weather and, really, what my friend Jules (a bridesmaid in wedding #2) tells me I should wear. :)

PC is bringing a suit, dress shoes, 2 dress shirts, 3 polos, 2 tees, jeans, shorts, and board shorts. How is this all fitting in one bag you ask? Because I’m cheating: all of the hanging stuff is in a garment bag in the back of my car.

Hey, there’s no such thing as breaking the rules if you’re the one making the rules.

So that’s it! It’s been a great adventure. I’m not sure I’ll go back to a life of hauling huge suitcases through airports and in and out of car trunks. We’ll see. The lure of an extra pair of shoes, or bringing both my flatiron AND curling iron might get me yet.

Is anyone else trying on One Bag travel? How is it working for you? Will you keep it up?
